Blog 5 - Carlos Sainz: The GOAT

Hi to everyone. How is it going all? I hope all good. Today i'm gonna talk about one of my favourite sports: Formula 1. To be specific i'll talk about my favourite driver: Carlos Sainz.

For those who don't know, the Formula 1 is a motor sport where 20 cars who belong to 10 teams, compite to complete a specific number of laps in the shortest possible time. Exist many motor sports (like Nascar, Rally, Moto GP, etc..) but the Formula 1 is the highest category, so is don't easy be part of this.

Knowing this, Carlos Sainz is a spaniard driver who currently drive for Ferrari, one of the best teams of all times. But in the past, he drove for others teams. His first team was Toro Rosso (currently AlphaTauri), where he obtained very good results but he was sacked because the team hired a better and younger driver (who is the currently World Champion). After this, Carlos arrived at the Renault team, who gave him a better car and again, he got a very good results, but again, he was sacked, because the team had the opportunity to contract (supposedly) a driver who will give the team a betters results called Daniel Ricciardo.

After all of this, he arrived to McLaren team, where he got the best results of his career with a young and funny teammate for two seasons. This results made the team finished third in the teams championship, an achievement that they didn't achieve decades ago.

With all this record, for the first time, he left the team for his good performance and not for another driver and arrived (in 2021) in Ferrari team, probably the historical best team in the category.

At first he arrived to be the second driver, because the team had all the expectations in his teammate Charles Leclerc, but at the final of the season he ended in the fifth position in the drivers championship, up above Charles (the first fours drivers un the champonship had a ridiculous fast car and no one can compite with them, so a fifth place is the best result for the others teams).

I write all this because i think Carlos is probably the most underrated driver in Formua 1 and he doesn't have the recognition it should because he has always exceeded ecpectations.

Now he is behind Charles, but there are many races left so anything can happen, maybe, he can will win the championship, who knows...
